BEST Success Story
Woman in SilhouetteAn injury can change your life. A recent graduate of BEST can now say, "For the better!" This student enrolled in BEST for retraining due to a back injury, which left her unable to continue working in the home health field. Although nervous at first, this student excelled in class. She overcame her fear of the computer and gained more confidence each day as her skills improved. She also assisted her classmates when needed, which demonstrated her caring attitude towards others. The BEST program provided the marketable skills she needed to obtain the job she wanted, billing clerk at a local hospital. With excellent pay and a benefits package, this individual is back in the workforce, happy and proud of her accomplishments. Her self-doubt and worry have been replaced with confidence and a new career. She faced her challenge head-on, and her determination to succeed was recognized by her current employer. She has been rewarded for her accomplishments and is a genuine success story.

Another BEST Success Story:
Two Business Employment Skills students at their work site.In the spring of 2003, two BEST graduates obtained employment in the registration department at a local hospital. Big deal? It is when you consider that these individuals had over twenty-five years experience in the RETAIL FIELD! Both students were dislocated workers due to the closing of their store, and both wanted to make a career change. Their goal was to acquire skills to qualify for office positions in hospitals located in the Tri-State area. With limited skills and a tight labor market, they knew this would be difficult. They were referred to BEST for training and excelled right away. Each student displayed positive attitudes and completed BEST with high scores in all components. With the skills gained in BEST, both individuals were able to obtain full-time jobs with excellent pay and great benefits. They reached their goal of making a career change, and both landed the jobs they wanted. These graduates proved that desire, attitude, motivation and the right training can make dreams come true.
